The Department of Education holds the responsibility English Language education and training. The mission of the Department is to facilitate individuals through learning, to achieve their full potential and contribute to the advancements of English language teaching in Sri Lanka encouraging them to engage in Research and pedagogical curriculum design and revision to overcome the existing problematic areas in ELT.
